The channel is operated by UTV Limited and is the independent license for the Republic of Northern Ireland and subsidiary by UTV Media.
The channel launched in 1959 and broadcasts Terrestrial, Satellite, Cable and Analogue. The franchise of the channel was taken by the Independent Television Authority of Northern Ireland. Ulster Television Limited broadcasted first trying to stream 20 minutes of local sourcing programs adding advertising of ABC Company.
