In the year 1997, Both of companies Discovery Communications and BBC created Animal Planet with the dream of make the most famous spectacular Animal channel.

The next year, in 1997, Animal Planet incorporated a national feed from New York, increasing their potential a big steps forward. Folowwing the bg success of the channel, in Canada, Japan, India and Taiwan have been created local programs of Animal Planet.

In 2009, the HD setup was launched in almost all the networks which have contract with the channel. Also a few years later, the Animal Planet magazine started be sold in the entire world.
